Beautiful Nha Trang
On any adventure it can take you a little time to warm up or cool down or basically get in the groove. A couple of things happened in HCMC, small things, but stuff that grates on you. Crossing the road is like Arcade game, Frogger, live; except you only get one life and you can’t insert more coins to play again. Hardly anyone speaks English or Japanese and not that I expect that - we should be speaking Vietnamese.
Frank and the kids have only ever travelled to places where English is widely spoken. There is a great reason to try and learn some local language. If locals see you are trying, they will try too and communication is all about trying to build a bridge of understanding.
Frank and kids eat hardly anything but French Fries, pizza and pasta when we are travelling. We holiday in Indonesia and Thailand a lot and they live on that stuff. Today at a mystery restaurant, I said try the local food and happily ate my ‘surprise package’ doused in chilli sauce… The kids say ‘we will try the local food in Rome’!
Yeah maybe we will just go to Rome! It’s actually perfect…many roads lead to Rome and luckily we haven’t booked any tickets past the Dubai leg. We are attempting to bring our Dubai ticket forward, go to Sian Reap, Dubai and then who knows...
Today has been great! Nha Trang is beautiful and Rocco and Sam are happily making friends with everyone. Tomorrow we are flying to Hanoi…specifically to see Halong Bay.

Hey there! Looks like Halong Bay was a huge success, what amazing pictures. It was great meeting you in Nha Trang and hopefully we'll run into you again in Siem Reap in the next week or so! Love the blog, I'll happily be keeping up with your travels!
